  • Biology of the Honeybee, Beekeeping, Pollination

Research Interests:

  • Reproduction and swarming of bee colonies
  • Pheromonal inhibition of the construction of swarming and cells
  • Alarm pheromones of workers and queens.
  • Attraction of honeybees to flowers (Citrus, Cucurbits).
  • Management of bee colonies for pollination and honey production in the subtropics.
  • Monitoring and control of Varroa jacobsoni and Nosema apis in bee colonies.

Teaching:

  • Biology of the Honeybee, Beekeeping and Hive Products
